Large branches blooming against a clear blue sky, the almond blossom was one of Vincent's favorite subjects. He created the painting to celebrate the birth of his godson, who was named after him. These early flowering trees herald the arrival of spring and symbolize young life through their branches. Van Gogh was inspired by Japanese prints, which is evident in the clear contours and composition of the tree in the painting. The Blossom duvet cover has chosen a fresh blue-gray background with a canvas print instead of the traditional blue sky. The back of the duvet cover is a solid blue-gray color. High quality.
