Rab Valiance Ink — designed for intense winter escapades, this men's down jacket is totally waterproof and filled with European-certified goose down boasting an impressive 800 fill power. Fully taped seams and Pertex® Shield waterproof material provide the insulation you need for superior protection in wet conditions. The cuffs and hood are additionally insulated with a special Pyrotec™ fabric that dries quickly, plus there's a convenient drawstring at the bottom of the jacket.

Technology

• Pertex® Shield — a wind and water-resistant material featuring a climate polyurethane membrane that offers exceptional waterproofing and breathability. It is highly durable with a lightweight design, often used to reinforce areas prone to abrasion on ultra-light water-resistant clothing.
• Fill power — a measure indicating the ability of a limited mass of down to occupy a certain volume. Physically, fill power refers to the volume in cubic inches occupied by one ounce of down. The higher the fill power, the better the quality of the down. Outdoor gear typically uses fill power values of at least 550 units, with 650 units and above considered good. High fill power down not only shows a larger volume per unit mass but also a lower thermal resistance per unit thickness compared to standard values.
