The Perwanger tannery boasts a family legacy in leather production spanning over two centuries, passed down through generations since 1780. Nestled in the Italian Alps in Auer (BZ), this tannery began processing hides from local farmers, traditionally serving local shoemakers. In the 1970s, driven by a passion for mountain excursions, Josef Perwanger successfully developed water-repellent properties in leathers, leading to the creation of the suede Nepal Perwanger.
