Lightweight and breathable, they are ideal as a backup rain jacket and easily stow in a backpack. ¾-length, two-way zips allow the pants to be pulled on quickly over boots, while an internal storm flap, elasticated hem and press stud fastening effectively keep out the wet. Rab is a British manufacturer of clothing and equipment for rock climbing and mountaineering, whose strong point is high-quality and technologically advanced sports technical clothing, down insulation and headwear. The company was founded in 1981 by leading Scottish mountaineer Rab Carrington. Drawing on his own experience on numerous expeditions, Carrington created garments to provide comfort, protection and freedom in the mountains, whether hiking, climbing or mountaineering.

Rab down jackets, sleeping bags and expedition clothing are made from ethically sourced European goose and duck down that is Responsible Down certified. A fluorocarbon-free water-repellent treatment called Nikwax is also applied to the down used in clothing and sleeping bags to prevent them from becoming weighed down by water.
