Perwanger Leather

Perwanger is a tannery rooted in over two centuries of family tradition, meticulously passed down through five generations since 1780. Located in the heart of the Italian Alps in the village of Auer (BZ), this tannery has a long history of sourcing hides from local farmers for community shoemakers. In the 1970s, fueled by his love for mountain hiking, Josef Perwanger enabled his leathers to resist water. Previously, climbers had to grease their boots. This innovation gave birth to the suede Nepal Perwanger. Thanks to its excellent water resistance, breathability, and unique production methods, the Nepal Perwanger suede has become popular in mountain, leisure, and safety footwear.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE:

- For very dirty leather surfaces, use a damp brush.

- Our Nepal suede leather comes pre-treated for water repellency; renewal is generally unnecessary. If desired, only apply water or silicone-based waterproofing products, as other products may harm its properties.

- Do not apply oil-based, animal grease, or similar products on Nepal suede leather.

- Avoid contact with acidic liquids or powders (e.g., hydrated lime).

- If the leather gets wet, allow it to dry gradually at room temperature, away from direct heat sources such as fires, heaters, or radiators.
