MSR GGP Filter Replacement — this water filter was originally created to meet the needs of military personnel operating in field conditions. It effectively purifies heavily contaminated water from mechanical debris, microplastics, bacteria, protozoa, and viruses. Just hang it up while you focus on your tasks at the base camp or while camping. The large reservoir and impressive flow rate for its class cater to the daily water needs of several individuals. Its durable materials and compact design make it perfect for bringing along on any adventure, no matter where you go.
Features
- The system includes a 10-liter dirty water reservoir, a filter with a hollow fiber cartridge featuring a pore size of 0.02 microns, tubes, clamps, and a bottle adapter. Although designed for direct drinking, it’s far more hygienic to pour the clean water into containers while in group outings.
- The two-stage purifier employs activated carbon to reduce chemical and other unpleasant odors, enhancing the taste of water.
- This cartridge is rated for 3000 liters of water, which helps eliminate 3000 discarded plastic bottles from the environment.
- The ten-liter reservoir can be filled easily from taps or natural water bodies, meeting daily water requirements for drinking, cooking, and hygiene.
- Cleaning is a breeze: there’s no need for back flushing. A simple opening of the rinse hose allows for straightforward cleaning and maintenance of flow rate.
- It has a high flow rate of up to 1 liter per 2 minutes when the reservoir is optimally suspended at a height of 1.8 m. That’s 2.5 times faster than the closest competitor.
- This filter meets the military testing standard NSF P248, which effectively removes viruses (99.99%), bacteria (99.9999%), protozoa (99.9%), mechanical impurities, and microplastics from the worst-quality water.
- The NSF P248 testing standard is the strictest scientific certification. NSF P248 confirms that the filtration device safely eliminates declared contaminants from challenging water sources in the wild. MSR Guardian devices are the only purifiers on the market that have passed military-standard virus removal testing under P248.
- It adheres to the U.S. EPA Guide Standard and Protocol for micropurifier testing.
- Constructed to military-grade durability.
- Includes a carry bag.
First Use
Fill the reservoir with water and hang it up. Make sure the clamps on both tubes are in the closed position. Attach the tube to the reservoir. Open the rinse clamp, let out some water, and then close it. This step helps eliminate carbon dust. Next, connect the clean water tube to your bottle and open the shutoff clamp.
After filtration, wipe down the external surfaces of the system, fold it, and store it in the bag. Avoid disassembling the system to prevent contamination. Do not take apart the cartridge to avoid it drying out; it must remain moist inside. Handle the cartridge gently; do not drop it or freeze it. If the cartridge's fibers are damaged, proper function can't be guaranteed.
