The blade is crafted from AUS-8 — a corrosion-resistant, chromium-rich steel made in Japan. Originally designed for knife-making, this steel has gained widespread popularity for producing both folding and kitchen knife blades. Typically hardened to 56-58 HRC, it strikes a balance between mild toughness and resistance to chipping. With up to 0.25% vanadium content, it enhances wear resistance. The American equivalent of AUS-8 is 440A steel.

The handle of this model is made from thermoplastic — a durable material that withstands impacts and open flames. However, one downside is its poor cold tolerance; its impact strength may decrease at temperatures below 17°C. Nonetheless, in terms of other properties, this material delivers good value for its price.
