The steel used in this knife is 420J2, a low-carbon stainless steel that has been enhanced by Japanese metallurgists. While it offers decent strength and corrosion resistance, its durability and edge retention aren’t the best, positioning it more as a choice for fishermen or diving knives. It’s somewhat similar to the Russian 40X13 steel.
