CRKT Squid XM Marron BlackWash 2495B — This is the iconic model that was designed by knife maker Lucas Burnley and has been an incredibly popular EDC pocket knife among users for many years since its debut. The latest Squid XM takes things up a notch from the original Squid, featuring a longer blade that measures 7.5 centimeters (2.95 inches). When closed, this tool measures 10.4 centimeters (4.11 inches) in length. The blade is wider, featuring a drop-point shape that culminates in a pronounced tip. With a solid blade thickness of just under 0.3 centimeters (0.11 inches), you can trust that this knife won’t buckle under pressure. The blade steel has been enhanced as well; the new Squid now comes with D2 tool steel, which boasts excellent hardness.

When compared to the first version, the new blade is way easier to deploy, thanks to the spring-assisted flipper opening mechanism on the Squid XM. This can be operated effortlessly with one hand. Plus, the folding action has been made even smoother with the IKBS ball-bearing system in the blade pivot.

The upgraded Squid XM features a G10 fiberglass grip on one side and a frame-lock mechanism on the other. This robust locking system, made from abrasion-resistant stainless steel, ensures a tight hold of the blade, allowing you to use the knife confidently even during heavy-duty tasks.
