The new version of the Fenix PD40RV30 flashlight has improved light characteristics. The maximum brightness of 3000 lumens remains the same, and the range has increased by almost 100 meters. Now the flashlight illuminates up to 500 meters. This factor was influenced by the increase in the number of candelas - 60954 candelas, which are responsible for the intensity of light.

In minimum mode, the flashlight works for 17 days, provided that the flashlight burns for 5 hours a day. This is one of the highest rates among standard flashlights. With such a flashlight, you can safely go on a solo hike or an expedition for several days. One charge will last for the entire trip. The built-in branded Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery is responsible for the large battery capacity of 5000 mAh. It also comes with the flashlight. The battery is charged using the USB Type-C charging port.

The all-metal body of the flashlight is made of high-strength aluminum, which can withstand low and high temperatures from -35 ° C to + 40 ° C. The flashlight has an IP68 protection rating. The electronics are protected from dust contamination and moisture penetration into the case. Fenix PD40RV30 can withstand a fall from a distance of up to 1.5 meters.

Fenix has also patented the function of switching the flashlight with one hand. In order not to overload the device with unnecessary buttons, the manufacturers offered a switching function using a rotary mechanism. Several vertical stripes have also been added to the switch design to reduce finger slippage when switching between modes. The flashlight does not overheat even with prolonged use, thanks to the “dissipation ribs”. This significantly increases the service life of the flashlight. In the new model, the heat spreaders are located independently of the switch, which greatly simplifies access to light. The charge indicator helps to monitor the current state of charge of the battery.
