Douk-Douk Grand 815GM — your go-to folding knife, created way back in 1929 by Gaspar Conye. The Douk-Douk represents a spirit from Melanesian culture, beautifully engraved on the knife's handle. This handy tool became a beloved pocket knife in Algeria, earning the title of national pocket knife in 1939 when it was still a French province. Today, folks love it for its unbeatable price, reliability, and craftsmanship! Even now, each knife goes through 38 handmade steps in its production process.

The blade of the Douk-Douk 815GM is crafted from high-carbon steel, specifically XC75. It’s forged from a solid block of steel, giving it superior strength. The blade has been heat-treated to achieve a hardness of 50-53 HRC. Its edge is skillfully honed using a water wheel, ensuring excellent cutting quality and ease of sharpening. A unique arabesque pattern marks the blade, adding to its distinctive flair.

The handle measures 11 cm and is made from black metal, more precisely, bent cold-rolled steel. The finish resembles the treatment used for gun barrels, which gives it an attractive raw quality that oozes authenticity. You’ll also find an engraving of the Douk-Douk spirit on the handle.

The entire design is securely held together with steel rivets, and there's a loop at the end of the handle, perfect for attaching a lanyard for extra grip. The Douk-Douk doesn’t feature a locking mechanism: it naturally locks in place during use when the blade rests against the handle, although it won’t stay fixed.
