The blade is crafted from Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. Each blade undergoes a heat treatment process to achieve a hardness of 58 HRC. At the base of the blade, there are small indentations that can be used for cutting or stripping wires. The handle is made from high-strength plastic (glass fiber reinforced polyamide). It features compartments for two interchangeable screwdriver bits (flat and Phillips), which are included in the set. The Opinel DIY knife is tailored for everyday household tasks and minor repairs. Similar to most of Opinel's folding knives, this model comes with the original Virobloc locking mechanism.
